What if there were a place on campus that was like an Apple Genius Bar for your career?

You walk in feeling hopeful but a little uncertain of what to expect. Experts help you work through your questions. You get one-on-one service and feel taken care of. You leave knowing the next steps you need to take to stand out in the crowded marketplace of your future career.

This place doesn’t exist on most college campuses, but it will here – starting August 2019.

It’s called LynxConnect – a one-stop shop for resources and individualized support surrounding opportunities and experiences outside of the classroom:

  • Career exploration, planning
  • Internship experiences and professional connections
  • Research and creative opportunities
  • Study abroad options and support
  • Job search, resume building, interview training

LynxConnect invests in student success by empowering students to invest in career readiness.

Open office and mezzanine
LynxConnect will be a one-stop shop for resources and individualized support surrounding opportunities and experiences outside of the classroom.

Four powerful services come together in one convenient location:

  1. Career Center
  2. Experiential Learning Center (ELC)
  3. Global Education: Study Abroad
  4. Undergraduate Research

All four of these offices have been around for a long time, helping students find meaningful opportunities beyond the classroom. The exciting difference with LynxConnect is that now they’ll all be in a singular location. It will be easier for students not only to find these services on campus but also to understand how these experiences interweave to create a solid path leading right to their career.

“Your education is about academics and so much more. To be successful in today’s competitive society, you need meaningful experiential learning outside the classroom. Come to LynxConnect for an individualized experience that helps you get the most out of your college experience.”

Tony Smith, director, Experiential Learning Center

LynxConnect will live in a newly renovated, 15,000-square-foot space in the Tivoli Student Union. The space promises to be rich with connection and collaboration spaces that serve student needs best. You can make an appointment or drop in for workshops, meet-ups, seminars and other events – where you might meet with a career counselor, peer advisor or even potential employer.

At LynxConnect, you don’t just engage in experiential learning. You identify your own skills and how they make you more marketable in the job field. You explore ways to apply your academic learning outside of the classroom. You learn how to layer your experiences to maximize your education and your whole college experience.
